Police in North Mankato, Minnesota are on the hunt for a man who went goose hunting in a local park.
According to Police Lt. Carl Bock, witnesses observed a man pull up at the east side of Spring Lake, open a door of his dark green, subcompact and fire two shots from a shotgun at the lake’s fountain. He is then alleged to have waded through the foot deep water to retrieve a goose, leaving a duck and a goose dead in the water.
Bock explained a possible motivation for the crime:
It certainly appears that the intent was to kill ducks and geese.
The Mankato Free Press reports that if found, the drive-by goose hunter may face charges for firing a gun in the city and illegally taking a game animal.
