A suspected mix-up by drug dealers resulted in 175 pounds of cocaine being delivered to Spanish supermarkets in boxes of bananas.

The BBC reports that a brick of cocaine was discovered at the bottom of a box of bananas by workers at a Lidl supermarket in Madrid. With the aid of drug-sniffing dogs, police found another 25 bricks of cocaine at other Lidl stores. As a result of the mix-up, 2,000 lbs of bananas were destroyed

The bananas are believed to have come from Ecuador and the Ivory Coast. An investigation into the source of the cocaine is ongoing.
