Oops: School Staff Given Insulin Instead Of Swine Flu Vaccination

A number of school officials and staff members at a Wellesley, Massachusetts elementary school have been hospitalized after they were injected with insulin. They were supposed to be getting a swine flu vaccination.

Superintendent Bella Wong stressed that no students were endangered in Schofield Elementary’s Friday medical mix-up and that all of those affected have since recovered.

The Associated Press reports that Wong sent a letter to staff and parents explaining that the insulin involved belonged to students with diabetes and that an unnamed nurse had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
