Home Invaders Sought Legal Fees

Holly Hill, Florida: Two men stand accused of breaking into an apartment and threatening to kill or harm its resident, because of an unsettled legal bill.

The Daytona Beach News Journal reported Holly Hill Police Chief Mark Barker as saying:

They demanded $3,200 the victim owed to attorney Ron Alexander. Apparently they provided the attorney to the victim in a criminal matter.

An investigation is underway to determine whether DeLeland attorney William Ronald Alexander had anything to do with the case, or whether Jeffrey John Hanks and David K. Kelley acted on their own initiative. Alexander had previously represented both men in court.

When questioned about the matter, Alexander denied that he had sent the men to collect the money.

The victim, William Hull, had been introduced to Alexander by Kelley when he ran into legal difficulties over marijuana possession.
