Houston, Texas: Good intentions weren’t enough to save a private school teacher from the ax after it was found that they had encouraged students to hit a 5-year-old boy that had just punched a girl.
The AP reported that the incident occurred during a school field trip to a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant. Robindell Private School Director Chuck Wall reportedly told the Houston Chronicle that the boy in question “has repeatedly beat up kids” and that it was the second time that the school had fired a teacher for physically disciplining him.
The boy’s mother has said that she has withdrawn him from the school. Investigations by the Sugar Land police and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ Child Care Licensing Division are ongoing.
