Man accidentally shot at anti-violence barbecue

A man attending an anti-violence barbecue was injured by a stray bullet.

Toronto Police say that they are hunting three, possibly four, men who were involved in a gun battle further down the street. The gun battle was not related to the barbecue.

The 25-year-old victim was struck while protecting his girlfriend and her son. The gunshot wound to his back was described as superficial.

Staff Sergeant Richard McKeown said:

It kind of emphasizes their points that we really do have to get these guns off the streets.
