Brewdog, a brewery found in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, is releasing what they call the World’s Strongest Ale, the aptly named The End of History. Apparently the ale is stronger than both whiskey and vodka, although the brewer recommends the potent ale be enjoyed much the same way as one would drink whiskey and/or vodka–sipped out of a shot glass.
But before you think about running out and purchasing yourself some of this fine ale, know this–it’s being sold for £500 a bottle (roughly $760 U.S.), and comes stuffed inside a dead animal, which is probably a turn off for you animal lovers out there.
If it’s any consolation to those of you fond of the animal kingdom, the seven stoats, four squirrels and one hare that were used for the first dozen bottles of The End of History were not killed for the purpose of housing the expensive ale, but rather they died of natural causes before being stuffed with bottles of ale and nattily attired in top hats, kilts and other snazzy outfits.
If it’s alright with everyone, I’ll just stick with my $14-a-case PBR, thank you very much.
