Prisoner ate cellmate’s glasses

Of all the things that you might worry about your cellmate doing to you in prison, having him eat your glasses is probably not at the top of the list. It isn’t even something that you would think could happen, but it did – in a North Dakota prison one day when an inmate was refused access to the prison chaplain.

All signs are pointing to the unnamed spectacle eater getting a bit of extra time tacked onto his sentence. A few hours before the incident, he picked up an aggravated assault charge; the glasses scored him one count of criminal mischief. [Metro]
