Mystery missile spotted near Los Angeles

A KCBS helicopter near Catalina Island (about 35 miles off the coast of Los Angeles) captured some potentially ominous footage – a missile contrail. As of yet, nobody can state what the missile was or where it came from.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command confirmed the existence of the contrail but emphasized that it did not pose a threat:

We are aware of the unexplained contrail reported off the coast of Southern California yesterday evening. We can confirm that there is no indication of any threat to our nation and we will provide more information as it becomes available.

I’m guessing and hoping that it was just a case of a model rocket enthusiast accidentally gaining the world’s attention and not something more frightening or more sinister.
