Man’s real-life game of “Frogger” doesn’t end well

You all remember “Frogger” don’t you?  The classic Atari game where you control a little frog as he crosses roads and rivers, dodging cars and alligators along the way, until he’s safe and sound in one of his five lily-pads.

Good times for sure, and even the newest, rebooted version of “Frogger” is entertaining as all get out.  Playing it in real-life, with you as the frog, and a busy highway as the playing area, is not a great idea.  Actually, a very bad idea.

Just ask the 23-year-old South Carolina man who thought it’d be a hoot to play “Frogger” on a busy four-lane highway.  It was going so well—until he got hit by a 2010 Lexus SUV.  At that point—game over.

The injured, and as yet unidentified man was taken to Anderson Memorial Hospital.  Police later concluded that the man and his friends were indeed talking about “Frogger” when the man got it into his head to do so in real-life.  It went downhill quickly from there.

Police said before he was hit, the 23-year-old yelled “go” and darted into oncoming traffic where he was struck by a 2010 Lexus SUV.

At this time the 23-year-old is in stable condition, recovering from his injuries in hospital.  Police haven’t stated whether alcohol was a factor or not, but taking into account the victim’s age, and apparent lack of common sense, nobody in their right mind would be surprised if alcohol was involved.
