Behold: The face of evil in suburban Illinois!

In a day and age when offshore oil rigs spew millions of barrels of oil straight into the ocean and dysfunctional nuclear reactors turn communities into uninhabitable wastelands, a group of homeowners in Illinois find themselves inconvenienced by, of all things, “shadow flicker” from clean energy-producing wind turbines in their general vicinity.

There evidently being nothing better to look at in Libertyville, Illinois, neighbors of Ken Aldridge complain that his wind turbine is so annoyingly effective at reducing fossil fuel consumption that it ought to be banned outright from the community.  The plaintiff in the lawsuit against him, Dave Gates, was asked to comment when the director of community development recommended strict regulations on where turbines could be placed, how large they could be, and when they could operate.  His comment was, of course, “We’re not thrilled it would be run at all because it would still be disruptive no matter what,” because toxic seafood is much preferred in the Libertyville community.
