Trent Aresnault likes to spread his seed...

He’s a one man sperm bank looking to spread his seed for free to anyone one who needs it to procreate. But the government sees his deeds as potentially dangerous and are ordering him to stop.

However, 36 year old Trent Arsenault has no plans of stopping and is taking the US government to court so he can continue to give away his sperm for free to those who need it – something that he his ad postings claim he does as an “act of compassion.”

“Whatever happens with me sets a precedent, which could mean a lot of childless couples,” he says of the pending court case. “Does the government need to be in people’s bedrooms?”

Right now, if he makes any more donations without a sperm bank he’ll face a $100,000 fine and a year in jail.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration, Arsenault is providing his seed without going through the usual testing for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B or C, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, human T-lymphotropic virus, cytomegalovirus or genetic disorders. While he does get these tests everyone month he admits he can’t afford the costly testing done on the sperm within seven days of putting it into the vial to insure it is not carrying any of the diseases or disorders. These tests cost about $1,700 each time which is why commerical sperm bank charge between $400 – $600 per insemination.

Using his website and ads to promote his gift, Arsenault has provided at least 46 women with 328 viles of his semen which resulted in 14 births. He also signs a waiver to all parental rights as a means to protect him and those who have benefited from his sperm arsenal from any future legal battles.

Arsenault explained his point of view in his own words:

If you shut out the sperm donors, they are going to have to meet some bar dude. Spouses would have to cheat on each other.
