Salmonella outbreak traced to Taco Bell, replaced by Pizza Hut in Demolition Man, coincidence?

Last fall, over 60 people were made sick by salmonella in the United States, initially the CDC couldn’t trace the outbreak that was mainly in Texas and Oklahoma because other cases happened rather far from the area, like Ohio for instance. At first the CDC had named “Restaurant A” as a possible outbreak center meaning they knew it was a restaurant but couldn’t name it for whatever reason.

Then upon closer investigation they discovered that the outbreak was sourced by Taco Bell restaurants and issued an official statement on January 19th.

This whole outbreak might be the reason why in the Blu-Ray version of Demolition Man, Taco Bell, winner of the “franchise wars”, was replaced by Pizza Hut, complete with voiceovers, post-production digital editing and interior scenes. This threw me aback when I watched it recently, and noticed that Stallone, Bullock and other actors were clearly mouthing “Taco Bell” but the words heard were “Pizza Hut”. More so made evident by the fact that Cookie and I saw that movie in 1993 and we distinctively remember them using Taco Bell in Canada.

Burrito anyone?
