The gift came from Italian chocolate maker Tosca, who apparently thought that no less than a quarter tonne of chocolate would be sufficient for the occasion.

The pope thought better of consuming the egg himself however, and is passing it on to juvenile delinquents at the Casal del Marmo institute who would not have hundreds of kilograms of chocolate.
