Marikina City, the Philippines’ Shoe Capital, made the Guinness Book of World Records in 2002 for creating the biggest shoe, however, they seem to be missing the glory of the recognition. Officials tried again last year to make it in the book, this time by holding the largest circumcision party ever (ummmm… has there ever been one before?)
One thousand five hundred boys came to the event, all getting that special snip. Records we made, papers filed and the city waited anxiously to get their call from the Guinness Book of World Records.
But alas, their claim was rejected.
Turns out the powers that be at Guinness have a police against medical procedures being done in an allotted time frame, thus, the circumcision party was rejected. Apparently they have this rule due to concerns about hygiene and other possible risks.
Wonder what kind of entertainment they had? Or if there was cake? Source.
