Three filmmakers are making a group of A-List celebrities an amazing offer. For reviewing their feature film they are offering $10,000 and the worldwide rights to the movie. It sounds unbelievable but producer and co-writer Mark Zobian assures us that, although the film is a comedy, the offer is no joke. “I have a big fat check for ten large that I’m ready to hand over to one of these talented celebrities” says Zobian, “All that celebrity would have to do is review the film. For that they get $10,000 to donate to the charity of their choice. And if they like the film they can have the worldwide rights and sell it to whatever company they want as long as they donate the money from that sale to, again, a charity of their choice.” That’s a pretty good deal for the celebrity and for whatever charity ends up benefitting from this generous offer. “I know that a lot of charities have been suffering with the economy the way it is” says the film’s star, Angelica, “so I think this a great thing to do and hopefully one of these celebrities has a little bit of time to get involved. “ The feature length comedy is what co-director Jim Riffel describes as “midnight movie cinemadness.” “I’m a big fan of cult films” says Riffel, “movies like The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Plan Nine From Outer Space. It’s a sub-culture of movie-making that I really love.” Maybe that’s why the film is dedicated to Ed Wood and Doris Wishman, two of the most prolific and famous cult filmmakers to ever load a camera. Zobian concurs. “Cult films are maybe the most important genre of filmmaking. Those are the films that don’t pay attention to any rules and break new ground. They’re like the “punk rock” genre of the film industry.” Well, if that’s the case then their film is certainly off to a good, or rather strange start with its title. Are you ready? Okay, here we go…”Night Of The Day Of The Dawn Of The Son Of The Bride Of The Return Of The Revenge Of The Terror Of The Attack Of The Evil, Mutant, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead, Part 5.” Let me catch my breath for a second. Okay, now we can continue. So with a title like that, what can we expect from the film itself. “It’s a parody of the golden age of television,” said Zobian, “and explores what was considered appropriate TV family fare in the 1950s and 1960s and what’s considered appropriate television today. It’s a wonderfully entertaining journey.” One area of the film that is certainly magical is the lead actress/hostess Angelica. The Angelina Jolie look-a-like has flowing waist length dreadlocks and a love of tattoos that has resulted in most of her body thoughtfully dressed with the beautiful and colorful imagery. And amazingly Angelica didn’t stop with her body. Most of her face is also artfully covered. Riffel is a big fan of Angelica’s and is proud to have worked with her. “I honestly believe she’s the most charismatic actress on planet Earth” he said, “whether she’s actually from planet Earth is another story.”
In addition to Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler the film is also being offered to Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. If none of these celebrities are able to review the DVD a new list of celebrities agreed upon by Angelica, Zobian and Riffel will be announced at a future date. And “Night Of The Day Of The Dawn…Part 5” is not the only project these filmmakers are donating to charity. Angelica is also the lead singer of the band, “Eellogofusciohipopokunurious.” An eight song, eight music video CD/DVD is also being targeted for the same charitable treatment along with the worldwide rights to four other feature films and three screenplays directed and written by award-winning NYU Film School graduate Jim Riffel.
