Coming soon; “Killer Paper” to preserve food longer.

Scientists have developed a way to affix silver nano particles on paper without the nano particles falling off, so now we’re only a handful of clinical trials and tests away from getting our own “Killer Paper”.

The coated paper killed off E. coli and another nasty bacteria in just three hours. “Killer paper” could, according to the researchers, someday replace current preservation techniques such as irradiation and heat treatment.

We’ve known that silver nano particles have excellent antibacterial properties for a while, it even dates back to the time when imaginary creatures like werewolves, unicorns and snuffleupagii roamed the earth, and slayers crafted some silver bullets.

The main issue was that the silver nano particles kept on falling off the paper, thus reducing its effects. Now that problem has apparently been solved and we might be heading towards a new era of food preservation goodness.

I wonder if Mr.Christie might eventually replace that notoriously noisy cookie wrappering paper, with this new, possibly silent, “Killer Paper”. It would definitely change the way we all seem to sneak cookies in the middle of the night.
