Deadly Turbulence: Woman Paralyzed By Turbulence Fall

A woman suffered what surgeons call a “hangman’s fracture” when she was flung against the ceiling of an airplane lavatory on a Continental flight as it encountered severe turbulence. The 47-year-old woman is alleged to have repeatedly ignored warnings to stay in her seat.

Dr. Trey Fulp, who performed surgery on the patient stated that she is paralyzed from the chest down. Two other passengers and a crew member from flight 511 also required hospital treatment when the plane landed in McAllen, Texas, on Saturday. [News; Image]
