GoDaddy CEO Bob Parsons, posing with the corpse of his company

Web domain registry giant GoDaddy has suffered what can only be described as a public relations nightmare after CEO Bob Parsons published a video on his blog in which he shot and killed an elephant in Zimbabwe.

Though the video goes to great lengths in explaining that elephants were responsible for the destruction of sorghum fields – an important staple of local agriculture – PETA has retaliated by closing its account with GoDaddy and asks that others follow.  In addition, at least one competitor has jumped on the opportunity to secure offended GoDaddy customers by offering a special deal, which includes a significant donation to SaveTheElephants.com.

It is yet to be seen how badly the incident will affect GoDaddy’s business, but in the meantime, you can watch the graphic video of Parsons pulling a Hemingway here.  [theage.com.au]
