While posing as a deliveryman, the assailant attempted to gain access to the Staten Island apartment. The ruse was discovered by the owner who promptly jammed the door on the him.

The owner’s dog jumped into action, leaping towards the burglar as he pulled out a weapon and fired. The bullet bounced of the pit bull’s skull and spooked the would-be home invader into retreating.

Kilo the wonder dog is now recovering at home in a neck cone of triumph.
