If you ever wanted to get crabs on a Chinese subway then today is your lucky day… as long as you live within striking distance of Nanjing – where a vending machine is now dispensing reasonably priced crustaceans.
The crabs are priced according to size from USD 1.50 – 8; a bottle of vinegar to give your crabs a little extra kick will set you back USD 0.80. The vending machine keeps the crabs in a state of hibernation by holding the temperature between 5 and 10C. If your crab is dead it is not a problem: return it and you get three free.
