Teen girls survive freak road sunbathing accident

Two Pennsylvanian teenagers are lucky to be alive today after they fell asleep while sunbathing on a rural Pennsylvania road and were struck by a car… driven by one of their brothers.

The Beaver County Police Department explained that Samantha Schermanhorn and Kaylie George were airlifted to hospital. According to officials with the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the girls remain hospitalized in a fair condition. Two of Samantha’s cousins the family told WTAE-TV that Samantha’s 19-year-old brother had stopped at a stop sign and made a turn before he hit the two girls. They said that the girls were conscious after the accident and had said that they had fallen asleep while suntanning on the road. The brother was questioned by police.

Seriously, I know that this is a tragedy and everything and that the accident will haunt the brother in question for the rest of his life – but seriously, if things went down the way that they say they did… sunbathing on a road… does it get much more stupid than that?
