Teen Makes Like Spider-man With Homemade Invention

Every time I think about the youth of today, invariably I wind up weeping for the future.  But then I read about a kid like Hibiki Kono, and become hopeful for the adults of tomorrow.

Kono, 13-years-old, is quite the little inventor.  Wanting to emulate the wall-climbing abilities of everybody’s favorite web-slinger, Spider-man, Kono designed a backpack-mounted wall scaling device that used the power of two vacuum cleaners to provide the suction needed to help him cling to the side of buildings.

To say that his invention is extremely cool would be an understatement.  Factor in the fact that the kid is all of 13-years-old makes Kono’s wall-climbing gadget even that much more incredible.

It took Kono five months to complete the project, based on an idea he got after watching Bang Goes the Theory, a British science show.  The design, though, is one that the 13-year-old came up with all on his own.

Yep, Hibiki Kono definitely has a bright future ahead of him.

What exactly did he alter from the bang goes the theory version, looks pretty much identical to me. Just a kid emulating what he had seen on tv. I will admit it is cool to do and looks fun, but I for one cannot see what he has ‘invented’ that hasnt already been done before.
