SWAT called in when Colorado craft fair turns ugly

Police and SWAT teams were called into Fort Collins, Colorado to break up a group of approximately 400 rioters who had been attending a music and crafts festival.

It has been reported that police were called to the New West Fest at around 1am after receiving three separate calls about fights. As they moved in to break up the fights the scene turned into something that would not have been out of place at a Gathering of Juggalos. The out of control festival goers threw whatever was at hand at police, including beer bottles and patio furniture. Vendors booths were robbed and trash cans were set on fire. The police fired tear gas but it had little effect.

It was at that point that the SWAT team was called to take things in hand. Arrests were made, citations were issued and two people who were thrown through a window were taken to hospital. Police said that more arrests and citations will follow.
