Mr. T Reports for Jury Duty

Mr. T

When you think of a person who best represents truth, justice and the American way, one name immediately comes to mind–Laurence Tureaud, a.k.a. Mr. T.

That’s why it came as no surprise that when called for jury duty, Mr. T did his civic duty and reported to the Cook County Criminal Court.  He was recognized almost immediately by the defendant’s daughter.

The case itself involved Sondra Cartwright, a woman accused of trying to hide drugs from police during a raid on her apartment building.

Mr. T signed autographs and posed for pictures with everyone from the defendant’s family to other potential jurors.  Unfortunately for everyone, Mr. T was not chosen to sit on the jury.

Although he wasn’t chosen, Mr. T commented on the enjoyment he felt after meeting his potential fellow jurors.  “It’s not about the A-team; it’s  the J-team–the jury team,” he said.

And in true Mr. T fashion, no appearance would be complete without a quote involving his patented catch phrase–“If you’re innocent, I”m your best man,” said Mr. T. “But if you’re guilty, I pity that fool.” [UPI.com, Image]
