Apparently Swimming Into Baited Croc Traps is the Thing to do in Australia

861745-men-pose-in-crocodile-trap.gifYes, those are baited crocodile traps, designed to catch saltwater crocs.  And yes, those are two nimrods inside the cage, and one more atop the trap.

Do I even need to say it?  Because if you even had a moment’s thought of trying this, you are a deeply disturbed individual.  Not unlike our three deranged lads there.

Authorities believe this picture, which had been posted on Facebook, was taken at Manton Dam, which is about 75 km south of Darwin.  Yes Darwin.  Isn’t the irony delicious.  It almost makes me wish a croc feasted on these twits just so they could have won a Darwin Award.

If authorities can figure out who these idiots are, they face a huge penalty.  If convicted they face up to 5 years in prison, along with a possible $55,000 fine, according to the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act.

Just think–if this happened in the U.S., these three fellows would probably get their own “Jackass” type show.  Imagine that, the land Down Under frowns upon reckless, life-threatening behaviour, instead of glorifying it.  Is that weird or what?
