Vladimir Putin is out to prove that he still has what it takes to represent his country… in the sporting arena.

Russian television footage shows the black-belted leader putting his martial arts skills on display for the second time in two years, this time it was for the national judo team.

Putin is shown spending a little time throwing about compliant team members and the chief trainer, Olympic Gold medalist Ezio Gamba.

Reuters reports that following the training session, Putin made a suggestion to Gamba:

If you need direct help, you can include me in the team.
