Westminster, Orange County, California: A woman has been jailed for stealing someone’s identity in order to set up a line of credit to pay for $12,000 worth plastic surgery procedures.
Thirty-year-old Yvonne Jean Pampellonne was sentenced to 180 days jail, three years probation and ordered to pay restitution to Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery in Huntington Beach after she pleaded guilty to the charges of second-degree burglary, grand theft and identity theft. The amount of restitution that she will have to pay is unclear
The Daily Breeze reported that Pampellone skipped her follow-up appointments after surgery. She was identified from a police lineup.
On the surface, Pampellone’s crime sounds a stupid one – I doubt that there are many people as good at identifying facial features as plastic surgeons, except for maybe police sketch artists. However, she might not be quite so stupid as she appears – after all, the court cannot order that her surgical modifications be undone, so she can enjoy the proceeds of her crime for the rest of her life.
