Limp 911 prank leads to arrest, stiff sentence

Making phony 911 calls isn't normal. But on Viagra, it is.

A South Florida man is facing jail time after a series of 911 prank calls were traced back to his ex-girlfriend’s home in Oakland Park.

Matthew Wade Douglas Jr. thought he was being clever by making the calls from his cell phone, each characterized by increasingly absurd stories about a suspected Viagra overdose.  When asked for an address, he gave 911 operators the first address off the top of his head – which happened to be that of his ex-girlfriend.

The repeat offender never changed his story, and finally an intrepid 911 operator recorded his third prank call.  When played back for the residents of his ex-girlfriend’s home, the homeowner recognized Douglas Jr’s voice and the mystery caller was nabbed.

As for the stories, Douglas Jr. reported, in graphic detail, the effects of a massive Viagra overdose as well as his imaginary wife’s attempts to cure his priapic condition through various sex acts.  He is now charged with misusing the 911 system and making an obscene or harassing phone call.
