The rule of thumb in relationships is that three unreturned calls mean the bird has flown. For a woman in the Netherlands, however, that rule was not observed, and as a result, she is being charged with stalking, having placed around 65,000 unsolicited phone calls to an ex in a single year.
Though she has argued to judges in the Hague that the figure is not excessive, simple math concludes that she placed a phone call to the jilted lover once every eight minutes – on average. More likely, seeing as she had to sleep, put down the phone to eat, et cetera, she was placing unanswered phone calls non-stop for hours on end. She still contends that this does not appear desperate. [Source; Image]
