Burglar caught thanks to ear prints, BUSTED

It’s not just fingers that can point out the accused. So can ear prints.

In Germany, a burglar thoughts to have stolen roughly $650,000 worth of good was nabbed by police thanks to ear prints left at the scene. Police think the thief must have pressed his ear against windows and doors to hear if someone was home before making his illegal entrance, and thanks to these prints, along with DNA samples and regular old fingerprint authorities are able to catch their man.

Who knew ear prints were as distinct as finger prints? Apparently they did:

“Ear prints are almost as unique as fingerprints and can be important evidence, as this case shows,” Hamburg police spokeswoman Ulrike Sweden told NBC News.

Waiting now for the episode to make it to CSI…. Source.  Picture.
