Suck it, meter maids!
Jessica Davey, a care worker in Salisbury, England, found a tire boot attached to her Renault Clio and a fine for $180 attached to her windshield wiper by a parking inspector. Her parking permit was sitting on her dashboard, not hanging from the windshield as it was supposed to be.
Instead of giving up, Davey sat in her vehicle for thirty hours waiting for the parking inspector, Anthony Brindley, to remove the boot. Also present at the scene: Parking inspector Brindley, who spent thirty hours waiting for Davey to pay the fine or leave her car so that it could be towed. Finally, by midday Tuesday, Brindley left the scene and Davey removed the boot herself, enabling her to leave.
According to Davey, “I couldn’t get to work because of this and, as I’m a carer, it affects other people if I’m not there.” [Source]
