Perhaps she watched Juno one too many times, or perhaps a real social experiment was at hand. Regardless, 17-year-old Gaby Rodriguez pulled a well-timed “gotcha!” when she pulled a fake tummy insert out from under her sweater at a school assembly in Washington to reveal that she hadn’t been pregnant for the past six months.
The stunt worked well enough that Rodriguez was able to assemble a project titled “Stereotypes, rumors and statistics” detailing, as you might have guessed, the stereotypes, rumors and statistics surrounding teenage pregnancy. Though her boyfriend, mother and principal were in the loop, everybody else evidently bought the act, including her best friend, who was quoted to claim that the baby made her more annoying than usual.
