Investment banker John Belitsky and pal Dan Wuebben are the madmen behind this rather expensive journey. What started out as a matter of proving Belitsky’s father wrong (the father, a former cabbie himself, told his son that no taxi driver would ever drive someone that far), turned into something “magical.”
The pair headed to La Guardia airport where they enlisted the services of driver Mohammed Alam. After setting the price for the 2448-mile trip at $5000, the trio set out on their journey. A stopover in Las Vegas netted the pair of friends $2000 in casino winnings, helping to take a dent out of their $5000 cab fare.
Magical? Sure, but I can’t imagine spending all that time in the back of a New York cab—those things are only slightly less disgusting than the floor of a public bathroom.
