Messages of tolerance? On MY Midwest highway? It's more likely than you think.

Church billboards are well-known for turning the public eye to any number of offensive messages, especially regarding homosexuality.  But Toledo’s Central Methodist Church, in a quixotic move, has posted a message on their digital billboard stating “Being Gay is a Gift from God.”

Capitalization issues aside, the display of acceptance and tolerance is extremely unconventional in the Midwest and has received both positive and negative feedback.  While Dan Rutt, one of the faces behind the church’s new campaign, argues that “We just want to offer a positive message that being gay is not something you have to apologize for,” a growing group of Leviticus-quoting Christians are feeling extremely spiteful as demonstrated by the comments section at the end of the source article.   [Source]
