And it’s all thanks to a little conniving from comedienne Lisa Lampanelli. Normally I’m not a big Lampanelli fan, but this is downright brilliant.
Here’s the scoop (and probably the only time you’d want more of those Westboro Baptist nutjobs protesting outside your event)—Lampanelli promised to donate $1000 for every Westboro Baptist Church protester who showed up to wave their ridiculously offensive signs outside her show. The group routinely shows up to protest anything having to do with homosexuality, dead U.S. soldiers, and even Judaism. I hear they’re great fun at parties and bah mitzvahs.
Final tally at the Topeka, Kansas show—44 wackos. Which meant that Lampanelli, thanks to the support of the Westboro Baptist Church, would donate $44,000 to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis Organization. And the raunchy comic was more than happy to hand over the cash, as evidenced by her Tweet following the show…
“Thanks to these a-holes, $44,000 will be donated to the GMHC!!!”
Wonder what Fred Phelps, head of the Westboro Baptist Church, thinks of all this? Does anyone really care what he thinks of Lampanelli’s tremendous act, except for his little circle of soulless, heartless followers?

Gay Men’s Health should write to the Westboro Wackos thanking them for the donation & explain how it will be used to promote their cause.
