In Pakistan, a baby born born with six legs has survived a grueling operation to remove those that weren’t his.

Doctors say the abnormality was most likely caused by a parasitic twin who didn’t develop fully. In cases like this the twin attaches itself to the other fetus, growing as a part of them and not developing fully.

Umar Farooq is now doing fine after doctors were able to remove the limbs that weren’t his, a challenge in itself since it’s difficult to figure out the difference.
