Diver Films Underwater “River” At Bottom Of Cave

Professional diver Anatoly Beloshchin recorded this incredible video on a cave dive at Cenote Angelita, Mexico. Beloshchin could be forgiven for being a little squeamish around the “river”, as it is actually a layer of highly toxic hydrogen sulfide – a chemical that gained notoriety due to its use in a large number of Japanese suicides in recent years.

In his own words:

We are 30 meters deep, fresh water, then 60 meters deep – salty water and under me I see a river, island and fallen leaves… Actually, the river, which you can see, is a layer of hydrogen sulfide.
