Teenage Girl Falls Asleep In Tattoo Parlor, Wakes Up With 56 Stars On Her Face
Eighteen-year old Belgian, Kimberley Vlaminck, is suing a tattooist after she fell asleep during a tattoo and woke up with 56 stars on her face.
Vlaminck claims that she only asked for three stars, however, Rouslan Toumaniantz believed that she wanted to look like the sky at night.
Said Vlaminck:
I cannot go out on to the street, I am so embarrassed. I just look horrible, a bloody freak.
I think he didn’t understand what I wanted. He spoke only fractured English and French, but I explicitly said in my native tongue, French, that I wanted three little stars only near my left eye.
Vlaminck is now seeking the equivalent of about $15,000 in damages, the amount that it will cost to surgically remove the tattoos.
Toumaniantz, the 37-year-old tattooist at The Tattoo Box, offers a different version of events:
She was awake and looked into the mirror several times as the procedure was taking place. The trouble all started when she went home and her father and boyfriend threw a fit.
They are saying things now like I doped her or hypnotised her. What rubbish. She asked for 56 stars and that’s what she got.
Toumaniantz is refusing to budge on the issue, and while he is prepared to offer Vlaminck a discount on the tattoos, he resolutely refuses to pay for her surgery.
I won’t pay for the treatment. The only concession I would do is give a discount. If they are so dissatisfied they can only pay me 50 Euros because that is the cost of four stars.

I think the girl is a liar. I find it hard to believe that a tattooist would do something like that against a person’s will. How can someone even fall asleep and not feel the tattoo being performed? That just doesn’t make any sense to me.
I asked myself the same question, a needle digging in and out of the skin would be pretty hard to sleep through.
the above story has many mistakes. first of all, she speaks dutch and some english, no french at all. the tattoo artist is french himself, speaks english and understand some dutch.
now, to fall asleep during a facial tattoo is impossible unless drugged; the pain one has to endure is far too great. when the tattoo was done, she paid for it and presumably went home. if she was in any case unsatisfied with the tattoo and would’ve felt abused in the first place, her reaction would’ve been a completely different one.
next to that, it can only harm a tattoo artist’s image to drug someone to tattoo them.

i’ve fallen asleep many times whilst getting tattoos. with neither drugs nor alcohol to assist. but never when work was being done on my face!
I think that 2 options could have happened but there is no real proof of whom is lying and who s being honest:
1) Either she was drunk before entering the parlour and thought she was doing a wow thing but her parents were angry/she came to her senses and realised she literally ruined her face
2)Misunderstanding…maybe she joked about the amount of stars – mentioned a lot of numbers and got misunderstood (in case there were language problems)
In both cases I think that the stars are cute but somewhere else…no tattoo is really nice on a face …imagine all these stars
My 13 year old daugther said “liar, liar, liar, you cannot nap during a tattoo. Because od the needle constantly poking into your flesh. She just did not want to get into trouble with her father”. And that is from a 13 year old!!! I agree with my daugther, that artist should not have to pay for his customers stupidity!!!
A skinful of booze would possibly allow for napping…
The only way you she could have fallen asleep would have maybe been booze,but the problem with that, is that if you are drunk most tattoo artists will not tattoo you, because it thins your blood, and you will bleed a lot more.
I know when I got my tattoo, that they made me sign a consent form stating that i had not had anything to drink and that I was of age and such.

Something is wrong here cause, seriously, falling asleep naturally during such a long tattoo. Though I really love the stars, they’re beautiful. Go out into society and be admired!
