Bangladesh’s One-man Rat Destruction Machine

ratsaregross
Bangladesh has a rat problem that destroys 1.5-2 million tons of the food that the country imports each year. Government solution: a rat killing contest, with prizes.

With a total of 83,450 confirmed rat kills under his belt, Mokhairul Islam won first prize and was rewarded for his efforts with a 14-inch color television. To prove his numbers, Islam had to save the tails of all of the slaughtered animals.

It would be fair to say that Islam safely won the contest, the person who took out second place only managed 37,450.
