An Indian man is believed to have been killed by a reluctant fighting cock.
According to witnesses Singrai Soren was killed by his cockfighting rooster after it emerged victorious from the ring. In the brutal sport of cockfighting, attach razor blades to the legs of their birds – and one such razor blade found its way across Soren’s jugular vein as he tried to push his victorious cock into another fight.
A friend of Soren explained:
Most masters are satisfied with the cash reward of £28 for every fight and a dead opponent to feast on but Soren seemed unsatisfied. He wanted him to go into the ring within a few minutes of his first fight and that is when the rooster began to complain.
A rival trainer who may be interested in seeing the bird fight again is believed to be sheltering the killer cock, which had beaten its last four opponents (five if you count Soren). [The Sun]
