A 9-year old Michigan girl proved she’s smarter than her mother when she took action to insure she didn’t have to drive with her drunk parent.
Latanya Evans, aka mommy drunkest, and daughter were at a local Bank of America when the little girl slipped the teller a note saying her mother was drunk and she didn’t want to be driven by her.
Bank employees responded and tried to keep the two in the bank. But the 49-year old mother wasn’t listening. Abandoning her daughter she took to her car and police caught up with her a couple of blocks away. Officials say Evans smelled of alcohol, slurred her speech and had difficulty getting out of the vehicle.
She’s been charged with driving on a suspended license and driving while drunk.
This isn’t the first time mommy-drunkest has been in this predicament. Evans has had her license suspended 5 times since 2000. Two-times for of driving under the influence.
Unhurt, the girl was picked up by her father and is being praised by police. Lt. Nick Louissa says:
“The girl was very smart and did the right thing. She tried to get her mother help, and she refused to get back in the car with her mom because she had been drinking.”
Mommy-drunkest is out on $2,500 bail. Hopefully when sober time kicks in she’ll realize forcing your daughter to rat you out is a really good motivation to get some help. [Link]
