Chinese man felled by three-day game-a-thon

A Chinese gamer is reported to have died after embarking on a a three-day gaming marathon at an Internet cafe, during which time he went without sleep, and consumed very little food or water. Details are scant but it appears that the man, who has not been identified) was 30 years old (gulp) and was spending around $1500 a month supporting his computer game addiction.

After collapsing at the end of his epic session the gamer in question was rushed to hospital where attempts to revive him were ultimately unsuccessful.

While some might rush to judgment here and use the story to highlight the dangers of video games, I am going to go out on a limb and say that it was probably the lack of water – or some underlying medical condition rather than the three days of games that killed our unfortunate 30-year-old Chinese male.
