Most people don’t see squirrels and think about lunch. Then again, most people aren’t Kat Kinsman.
In a spectacular blog entry, Kinsman tells readers that squirrel meat is not only edible, but delicious, healthy, in great supply and easy to cook. While she does not recommend killing and eating squirrels in urban areas, like Central Park, she’s adamant that it’s something worth trying at least once, citing the inclusion of squirrel meat in earlier editions of The Joy of Cooking and Mike Huckabee’s college diet.
Even if you’re still gagging from the basic concept, remember that squirrel meat “doesn’t get more local than from your own or your friend’s backyard.” Give squirrel a whirl! [Source; Image]
