Japan ministry spokesman Yasuhiro Sonoda drinks a glass of water

Japan MP Yasuhiro Sonoda drank a glass of water allegedly from the Fukushima plant, in a publicity stunt to show that the water from the damaged nuclear plant is safe. “Just drinking (decontaminated water) doesn’t mean safety has been confirmed. I know that,” Sonoda said. “Presenting data to the public is the best way.”

Yet he didn’t present data at that time, which makes him about as credible as the Cookie Monster with a hand in an empty cookie jar, claiming he didn’t have any cookies and doesn’t even like them.

The water, he claims, was taken from a puddle of water inside the buildings that house reactors 5 and 6, both damaged during the tsunami that followed the earthquake, last March 11th.

We wish him a prompt recovery from the radiation damage his liver will undoubtedly suffer, if the water is in fact from where he claims it is.
