NASA astronauts land in Kazakhstan, find Russian farmers welcoming them

Three astronauts landed safely in Kazakhstan early Tuesday morning, after spending more than five months on board the International Space Station. They were received unceremoniously by farmers, and carried fireman style over to the trucks that then took them to an airport. Volkov, Furukawa and Fossum were flown to the town of Kustunay for a traditional Kazakh welcome ceremony where they will part ways.

Although exhausted, all three men appeared in good health, as they were seated in chairs and wrapped in warm blankets as they were being carried. Why were they being carried? Simple, they have to readapt to gravity, after spending so much time in zero-g conditions.

Well, it could’ve been worse, they could’ve landed amongst speaking monkeys, to be enslaved and then as they attempted escaping, found themselves on a beach, by a broken up statue of Liberty. In other words, they could’ve landed at an Occupy NY sit-in.
