Facebook being used to trade in child pornography

An unfortunate but unavoidable consequence of social networking has reared its ugly head: the trade in child pornography.

Users trade images with their Facebook “friends”, allowing for the creation of the newest market for exploitation.

It appears that Facebook users have coded preferences that allow others know that they have the illegal abuse photos and videos. This means that pedophiles are able to interact with each other stealthily and continue the despicable trade.

It is still unknown how to counteract this problem though Facebook will undoubtedly have to begin to monitor users with suspicious names.
