It is said that thiefs don’t sleep, and it’s doubly obvious in the case of mr. Gyslain Talbot from Sorel-Tracy, a city near Montreal, Quebec. He had installed an above ground pool in his backyard over the week-end and finally got to swim in it Sunday afternoon and in the evening.
When he woke up the next morning, incredibly, as he looked out the window the pool was gone along with all the pool accessories, filter, pump, heater, etc.
At first police didn’t believe him, even an above ground pool takes between 2-3 hours for a trained pool technician to dismantle. Let’s just say it’s not the most practical thing to steal. Later on Monday, as the police were beginning their investigation, mr. Talbot got news that someone was installing a pool a few streets away in nearby Saint Joseph de Sorel. After a short visit by the police it was determined this was his stolen pool.
The cops returned the pool to its rightful owner yesterday but sadly for him, the liner was damaged and although the pool is going to be reinstalled, he will have to wait for a new liner because for now it doesn’t hold water.
Interestingly, police say the thieves MAY be charged with theft.
