the St. Martinville Tigers… where only white tigers are allowed
I guess the organizers of the class reunion at St. Martinville Senior High missed the memo that racism is no longer tolerated.
For this year’s event, invitations were sent out to class alumni marking their big homecoming event and reunion after with a stipulation at the bottom, “White Graduates Only.”
Apparently, this was a typo as 2012 was meant to be the first year that the reunion was segregated.
“This year, 2012, was going to be the first year that we were going to integrate it,” Liz Chance, one of the organizers of the event at the Louisiana school, told media.
The event has been going on since 1973, in all it’s segregated goodness.
School principal Michael Kreamer says he isn’t happy about the mix up and that the school has nothing to do with the reunions.
“I’m just a little disappointed that something like this comes up. I don’t think that it looks good for the school, but again as I said it has nothing to do with St. Martinville Senior High,” Kreamer said. “So I hope people don’t take that the wrong way.”
I’m betting chances of that are pretty slim, Mr. Kreamer.
