A 30 year old Chinese man had to undergo an endoscopic intervention to have a 23cm (9 inches) dildo removed from his rectum at the Shanghai Zhonghstan hospital earlier this week. The news was confirmed by both a hospital spokesman and a government-backed newspaper. Shops selling sex toys and other novelties are blooming in China, as proof of the recent Chinese sexual revolution.
The hospital spokesman also said that if the object hadn’t been removed in time, the man could’ve died. Doctors were surprised to see such a large object removed from the man’s body, and they’ve issued an official warning to the effect that people should always follow the manufacturer’s intended usage instructions.
A hospital spokesman confirmed the case to AFP, saying doctors performed the procedure on Saturday, but declined to comment further.
